Good-bye Harlem Line

What would be a better way to kick off the summer than knowing that I will not riding Metro North to work tomorrow? Today is the last day of school and tomorrow I will officially give up my seat on the 6:32 train out of Katonah. It will probably be occupied by some moron who feels the need to excessively check his Blackberry for the entire one hour trip, but only to find there are no new messages. Oh and I am sure the AC will be cranked to a brisk 47 degrees F. My life will no longer be reduced to standing on a platform at some ridiculous hour at the beginning of my day and sprinting throughout Grand Central Station (even jumping an entire flight of stairs on occasion), just to watch the train doors close at the end of my day. Don't get me wrong, I was flattered to be called "great train real estate" by a fellow male rider back in the winter, but it's back to driving the car all summer with the occasional off-peak train rides to Manhattan.

Above is my $251.00 monthly train pass that I misplace at least once a week. I might burn it tomorrow night.

did you know Katonah was named for Chief Katonah, from whom the land of Bedford was purchased by a group of English colonists?

You know it is bad when someone from Jersey knows more about your town than you do.......eek.

All I have to say is, my IM is running and I'll be here all summer.
